About Annie

I am an autism researcher analyzing perceptions of autism in the media. I also have autism and a rare genetic neuromuscular disability called hereditary spastic paraplegia. I am passionate about talking about disability inclusion, and I hope to use this blog to inform others about how disability is everywhere. 

Professional Disability Advocacy Experience

I have experience in disability advocacy from Simi Valley Youth Council, and California State University Channel Islands student senate. I also became a certified mediator in 2023, and am trained in de escalating conflict. I also have done some advocacy work with a brand called Neueve, which focuses on vaginal health when antibiotics and other traditional medical tools aren't able to help. Education

I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication from California State University Channel Islands, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Education with an emphasis in Disability Studies at California State University, Channel Islands.
