With it being December now, and Christmas right around the corner, I want to talk about accessible gifts. Many people could have allergies or other dietary restrictions that make certain gifts, including candy, scents, or ingredients unaccessible. This week, I want to give some suggestions for stocking stuffers for those in your life who might not be able to use typical stocking stuffer gifts. A note, if someone has any allergies it is great to ask before buying them a gift so you know they can use what you caringly picked out.
1. Slipper socks

Slipper socks are a step up from regular socks in the winter, as they are warm and cozy. I personally like to wear them in my Ugg boots so that I can stay warm when the weather outside is miserable. They come in all types of fun prints and different lengths, so they can be customized for each person. Many slipper socks can be on the cheap side, with Amazon selling a pack of 5 for $15. If you need a more expensive gift for something like a white elephant, more premium options exist. Slipper socks can also be made from a variety of materials, so allergies can be accommodated. I unfortunately don't wear wool very often because I start to feel itchy, so I am able to stick to the cheaper materials.
2. Nail Polish

While some people could be allergic to the ingredients in nail polish, this is a great gift for someone allergic to foods. I have heard amazing things about the brand Halo Taco, pictured above, but any brand can be good. Cheaper gifts can consist of one nail polish color while kits can turn into larger gifts. Nail polish can allow people to show festivity during the holiday season without being something to eat or smell.
3. Car Air fresheners

If you have a list of what someone is allergic to, or if you are only trying to avoid food as a gift, car air fresheners can be a great gift. I reach a point in the year where I stop going to the carwash because it is raining, so my car stops smelling nice from the air fresheners the carwash gives me. Scents can be customized so this gift is better if you know the person better but there are some standard scents to choose from. I personally like the ones that smell like fruit, but my partner prefers the ones that smell clean and like nature so it's all just personal preference.
4. Gift card: Target

In my family, stockings usually have a few gift cards to fast food places. However, if you can't eat restaurant food due to diets or allergies but still want to keep the gift card tradition alive, places like Target are a great option because there are so many options for the person to choose from that are not food related. I personally like to shop for clothes and sometimes makeup, and I buy the occasional game for my Nintendo Switch console. Choosing stores that offer variety are great gifts especially if you need to shop for someone you don't know as well. Larger stores like Target and Walmart also have items at all different price points so you can be sure that any amount can go towards an item.
5. Phone Chargers

I am always needing another phone charger, and if you are shopping for a teenager or someone who uses their phone a lot I think there is a good chance they can agree with you. I recently got a new phone with a new charging port so this is especially relevant for me. I happen to have an Iphone, but as long as you know if the person has an Android or Iphone can signal what charger works for their phone. Magsafe chargers are coming out now too, which can be a cool gift depending on the price.
