It's been over 6 months since I was hospitalized, and in many ways my health is better than ever! This week, I want to update you on my health overall, the current appointments I go to, and where I'm at in my hair loss journey.

As I shared last week, I'm training for my first half marathon! My strength has really improved, and I have really been enjoying all of the workout hobbies I have been able to do. In addition to working out, I have been trying pottery and am making a couple of things. I am not necessarily good, but it is fun! Balancing creativity with pottery and the blog with fitness-centered hobbies has been a nice balance. I recently tried a dance class that was so empowering! I am really enjoying all of the fitness that's in my life right now. I ended up not doing the fascia release session, I paused reflexology, and I am currently taking a break from therapy to focus on breath work. However, breath work has absolutely changed my life. I cannot recommend it enough; I feel lighter, more connected to my body, and empowered in who I am as a person. I am doing another three-month session right now, and can't wait to see how my life improves. I still go to physical therapy once a week, where I now do a combination of injury maintenance, disability maintenance, and running coaching. Having a goal makes the physical therapy more fun, and I'm able to time it with my workout classes.

Crohn's/Colitis-wise, I still have some symptoms, but it is very manageable. My energy is better, my diet is still clean, and I am consistently meeting with my functional medicine coach to adjust supplements and give updates. Mental health-wise, I'm also in a good spot because I feel supported by my community about the hobbies I am doing. It also helps that my family, boyfriend, and friends are willing to accommodate my dietary restrictions without making it a huge deal so I can be included and stick to food that my body can digest easily. I am currently not on any steroids or biologics, and I very much hope to keep it that way if I can. However, I hope I can soon be completely symptom-free.

Lastly, my hair is growing back! I think I will be entering the awkward grow-out phase semi-soon, but right now I go to get my hair cut monthly to make sure it stays looking intentional. The other day my boyfriend said my hair looked like Jimmy Neutron, which unfortunately for me was accurate. I've never had to do my hair before, and am entering a phase where I might have to, so if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Right now my plan is to let my hair grow out to a point where it catches up to itself, and then slowly let it get longer again. I'd love to grow it out super long again, but I get bored with my hair and like changing it up, so we'll see how long that lasts.

Thank you for reading about my health update!  If you have any questions or comments, please comment on the blog, reach out at @Anniekrollblog on Instagram or Facebook, or email me at Anniekrollblog@gmail.com. I hope to see you next week!
