Products I Use At Home To Manage My Disabilities

This week, I want to share some new unique and higher budget products I have been using to improve my health. Winter can be a hard time for me medically due to weather changes and increased exposure to cold, which can tighten my muscles. As we shift into the wintertime, I want to highlight ways I stay on top of symptom management for my mobility disability and inflammation symptoms in my body. Please talk to a doctor before trying these. I am not a medical professional. I do not get a commission for any of these products; this is just what I use on days when I have a routine.

Red light can help reduce inflammation and has been recommended for many medical conditions (University of Texas, 2024). I have tried a variety of red lights and have landed on this one because it offers red, UVA, and UVB light for a range of light exposure. I set this light on my dresser, and face it towards my bed. I typically try to lie on my bed with the light panel facing me for about 5-20 minutes each day. As a safety measure, do not make eye contact with the red light when it is on. If you do not want to buy a red light, some health services buildings offer red light therapy services where you can try it. I have friends who come over to use this machine, so I recommend it.

According to the website, this machine helps improve the amount of oxygen in your cells, which can support blood flow, brain function, and stress management. I have a blood disorder where my blood cells are not all the same size, which can cause some problems. This machine was suggested to me as a way to address the inflammation in my body. To use it, I breathe in using the mask for around 5 minutes each day. If I start to feel any side effects, I turn the machine off early. The goal is to increase my tolerance to carbon dioxide over time.

I have been getting hormonal acne due to the inflammation I have been experiencing, which has been affecting my confidence. I am someone who likes to go with very little makeup and try to find the balance between athleisure and put-together on days when I do not have professional engagements. Part of taking care of my body and mental health has been finding a good skin care routine. I have just started using this face serum that has copper peptides, and it has been working so far. I also have been using this serum from OSEA and have been enjoying it. It can be hard for me to find a good moisturizer, so I am taking the wins where I can find them.

I do not own this machine, but I do go and use it 2 times a month after physical therapy. PEMF machines use electromagnetic energy to promote healing. When I use this machine, I remove all forms of technology and set it to a specific frequency based on the current symptoms at the time of treatment. I don't think this machine has changed my life, but it is a great way to promote natural healing. If you are interested in PEMF for health recovery from an injury or addressing a chronic condition, some healing centers may offer this service in half-hour to one-hour increments. I personally get bored beyond 30 minutes, but that is just me.

I have to keep myself warm when it gets too cold outside. Sometimes, I have to double-layer to keep warm. This jacket keeps me dry and warm without needing to wear too many layers. I have it in black, and this pink color looks fun. If you struggle with the cold, finding a good, warm, comfortable raincoat can be almost impossible. I have been wearing this raincoat during our rainstorm in Southern California and have been almost too warm, which is a problem I am not used to having. I highly recommend looking for a rain jacket that has a soft layer inside if staying warm is a challenge for you, like it is for me. This rainstorm has confirmed that I cannot move outside of Southern California because I don't know what I would do if I needed more layers.
Thank you for reading about some of the new products I have been trying as I approach the cold season. If you have any questions or comments, please comment on the blog, reach out at @Anniekrollblog on Instagram or Facebook, or email me at Anniekrollblog@gmail.com. I hope to see you next week!
